Fees, lanes & dividends
What a Portal 8 trade pays, how the fee splits between the treasury and the lanes, and how holders are paid.

What a trade pays
Every buy and sell pays that side’s tax plus a 1% base fee, as a share of the trade’s quote amount. The whole fee is taken in the quote asset, never in the launch token.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Tax per side | 1% minimum, 10% maximum. Buy and sell can differ. |
| Base fee | 1% on every trade. |
| Total per side | 2% to 11% of the trade. |
| Wallet transfers | Free. The fee applies only to swaps in the launch pool. |
Where the fee goes
30% of the whole fee, base fee included, goes to the Argus treasury. The other 70% is split by the launch’s allocation across four lanes.
| Lane | What it does |
|---|---|
| Creator | Credited to the creator and paid on claim, to the payout address or its split. |
| Buyback and burn | Buys the token through its own pool and sends it to the dead address. |
| Dividends | Credited to holders on every trade, by balance. |
| Liquidity | Buys the token leg and adds both sides to the launch’s locked position. |
Any lane can be 0%. The four must add up to exactly 100%. The contract also has a buy-and-lock lane; this site always sets it to 0%. Lock tokens yourself instead.
Worked example
A 1,000 USDC buy on a launch with 5% buy tax and a 40 / 20 / 20 / 20 allocation, after the opening window.
| Step | USDC |
|---|---|
| Fee: 5% tax + 1% base | 60.00 |
| Treasury, 30% of the fee | 18.00 |
| Lanes, 70% of the fee | 42.00 |
| Creator 40% | 16.80 |
| Buyback and burn 20% | 8.40 |
| Dividends 20% | 8.40 |
| Liquidity 20% | 8.40 |
How the buying lanes run
Burn and liquidity budgets wait in the launch’s escrow until someone runs that lane. Anyone can run one and choose the size. The lanes only ever buy.
| Guard | Limit |
|---|---|
| Price move per run | At most 200 ticks, about 2%, measured from the price at the start of the block. |
| Fill | At least 95% of what the start-of-block price says the spend should buy. |
| Spend | Never more than that lane’s budget. |
Payout asset
Each launch picks one payout asset at launch, for the creator and holders alike: its own quote asset or USDC.
| Choice | How it pays |
|---|---|
| Quote asset | Paid directly in the quote asset. |
| USDC on a non-USDC pair | A keeper converts quote to USDC through a route the admin Safe sets, checked against a time-averaged price. When no converted USDC is on hand, a claim you make yourself pays in the quote asset instead. |
Holder dividends
Who earns
Every holder, in proportion to balance. Uniswap’s pool and position managers, the locker, the escrow, the hook, the lane executors, the lock vault and the dead address hold tokens without earning.
When
The dividend share of each fee is credited on the trade itself. If no one is eligible yet, that share goes to the treasury.
Claim it yourself
claimDividends() on the launch’s escrow pays your wallet.
Or have it pushed
Anyone can call claimDividendsFor(your address). The payment always goes to you, never to the caller, and a push can never change the asset you are paid in.
