Lock tokens
Lock launch tokens forever or until a date, from the Lock page.
On this page
Two kinds of lock
| Rule | Forever / Until a date |
|---|---|
| Contract | Lock vault / Time lock |
| Get it back | Never / The whole lock, on or after the unlock date |
| Change the date | Not applicable / Later only, never earlier |
| Hand it over | Not applicable / Two steps: propose, then the new owner accepts |
| Locked floor | Counts toward it / Does not count |
| Dividends on locked tokens | Not paid out / Not paid out |
| Sent without locking | The admin Safe can sweep it / The same, except in the first time lock, which has no sweep |
Until a date
Unlock date
Must be in the future and at most 100 years away.
Withdraw
Only the lock’s owner, only the whole amount, only once the date has passed. Nobody can release it early, including Argus.
Owner
You, or a wallet you name when locking. A transfer to someone else waits until they accept, and can be changed or cancelled before that.
Amount
What actually arrived. A token that takes a transfer fee is recorded net.
Older locks
Locks made in the first time lock stay there. They are listed, and withdraw, extend and transfer work as before. New locks go to the current time lock.
Forever
A forever lock goes to the lock vault. The vault’s locked amount per token only ever rises, and no address can lower it. The vault is excluded from Portal 8 dividends.
