Redirecting creator fees
Pay creator fees to another wallet, a GitHub or X account, or up to 8 wallets, and how a community takeover works.

Changing where creator fees go
| Fees paid to | After launch |
|---|---|
| A wallet | That wallet can split the fees across up to 8 wallets, or move them to another wallet. On the token page: Creator fees, then Manage. |
| A GitHub or X account | Fixed at launch. Only the account holder can collect, by signing in on /claim. Neither the creator nor the account holder can change the split or the recipient. |
The payout address
The creator share pays one control address. At launch you can name any wallet. Leave it empty and the launching wallet is used.
Claiming creator fees
The creator share is credited in the launch’s escrow and paid on claimCreator(). Anyone can call it. The money always goes to the payout address, or to its split.
A claim sent by the payout address itself also counts as creator activity and cancels a pending takeover. A claim sent by anyone else pays the same but cancels nothing.
Move it to another wallet
Propose
The current payout address calls proposePayout(token, newAddress). A new proposal replaces an unaccepted one.
Accept
The new address calls acceptPayout(token). Fees now pay it.
Accepting clears any split and cancels a pending takeover.
Split across wallets
After launch, the payout address can call setPayoutSplit to pay the creator share across several wallets. It stays the control address.
| Rule | Limit |
|---|---|
| Wallets | Up to 8. |
| Shares | In basis points, adding up to exactly 10,000 (100%). |
| Refused | A zero share, a duplicate wallet, the zero address, the token, or the launch’s escrow. |
| Clear it | Send an empty list. The whole share pays the control address again. |
| Wiped by | An accepted rotation or a completed takeover. |
The last wallet in the list receives the rounding remainder, so the parts always add up to the whole claim.
One bad wallet blocks the claim
If any split wallet cannot receive the payout or quote asset (for example, a USDC-blocklisted address), the whole creator claim fails until the split is edited.
Changes apply to unclaimed fees
The split is read at claim time, so a new split also covers fees earned before it was set.
Pay a GitHub or X account
A launch can direct its creator share to a GitHub or X account that has never used Argus. The account is named by its permanent numeric id, never its handle, so a renamed or reused handle cannot redirect the money.
At launch
Name the provider (github or x) and the account’s numeric id. The payout address must be the address the identity book derives for that account, or the launch is refused.
Fees collect
Anyone can call claimCreator() to move the credited share to that address, where it waits for the account.
Attestation
The admin Safe signs that the account belongs to a wallet. Anyone can submit the signature.
Accept
That wallet calls acceptPayout(provider, id) on the identity book. From then on the Safe cannot change it.
Sweep
Anyone can call sweep to move the balance to the accepted wallet. It is the only place it can go.
| Detail | Rule |
|---|---|
| Before acceptance | A new attestation from the Safe replaces the old one. |
| After acceptance | The wallet can move the identity to a new wallet itself: propose, then the new wallet accepts. The Safe is not involved. |
| Rotation and split | Not available on a directed launch. Its payout address is a vault that cannot send transactions. |
| Takeover | The accepted wallet can veto one. See below. |
Community takeover
The admin Safe can move an abandoned launch’s creator share to a new address. It is slow and public on purpose.
Start
Only the admin Safe can start one, naming the new address. The TakeoverInitiated event shows both addresses and the time it can execute.
Wait 7 days
Nothing moves during the delay.
Execute
After 7 days anyone can execute it. The new address becomes the payout address.
| Cancels a pending takeover | Who |
|---|---|
| contestTakeover or noteCreatorAlive | The payout address, or the wallet that accepted the launch’s GitHub or X identity. |
| proposePayout or setPayoutSplit | The payout address. |
| acceptPayout | The proposed new address. |
| claimCreator | Only when sent by the payout address itself. |
| rescindTakeover | The admin Safe, withdrawing its own takeover. |
The Safe can start again after a cancel, and each start restarts the full 7 days. Executing clears any pending proposal and split, and the old identity wallet loses its veto.
